Nintendo’s bottom line can celebrate another milestone, as Animal Crossing: New Horizons has crossed the 5 million mark in terms of Japanese domestic sales, marking the first Switch game to do so in Japan in a three month period.

The record is coming close to smashing Animal Crossing: New Leaf’s 5.1 million domestic sales mark, which will almost certainly be shattered by the end of July at this rate. Keep in mind that these figures are only counting retail sales, which means that with digital downloads the actual sales numbers are even higher.

We’ll be sure to update you on any more records that New Horizons — or other Nintendo Switch titles — smash through.
