Azure Striker Gunvolt 3 now in development, announcement trailer reveals new playable character | Nintendo Wire

I’m a sucker for the Azure Striker games and have been since the series’ 3DS debut. After a sequel and a spinoff, as well as releases on even more platforms (including Switch) we now know what the future holds for Gunvolt.

Announced during BitSummit Gaiden, Azure Striker Gunvolt 3 is now in development. While GV and Lumen are both returning, the most notable part of the trailer was its new, sword wielding character Kirin. Her style includes marking and electric techniques, but in a way that’s distinct from Gunvolt.

There’s no sign of rival/fellow playable character Copen, nor any significant details on story or release. If you like what you see so far, keep an eye out for more on Azure Striker Gunvolt 3 in the future and check out the other games in the series on Switch, 3DS, and elsewhere.

When he isn’t writing for Nintendo Wire, Ricky’s anticipating the next Kirby, Fire Emblem, or if the stars ever align, Mother 3 to be released. Till then he’ll have the warm comfort of Super Smash Bros. to keep him going.
