Luck and chance have always been a part of video games. This is especially true in any game that involves dice. What about a video game that isn’t a board/party game, where you’re partnered up with a living die named Dicey? Zoink Games is taking that scenario and running with it, RNG and all, in their next game Lost in Random.

In a press release issued by EA, it’s explained that “Lost in Random is a gothic fairytale action-adventure, with a very modern message. As another new IP set in a twisted dystopia where uncertainty and chaos are feared, the game follows Even, a courageous young girl, and her living dice companion, Dicey. Together, the two embark on a perilous journey where they must learn to embrace the unknown and play the hand they’ve been dealt, in a bid to break the curse of Random.”

Shown during EA Play Live, Lost in Random looks like a movie from the stop-motion animation studio Laika produced by Tim Burton. The haunting and gothic aesthetic is extremely charming, and certainly invites you to unravel what story that Even and Dicey will find themselves in.

There’s no solid release date set for Lost in Random, only a placeholder year of 2021. For now, all we can do is wait and watch Zoink’s Instagram account for posts showing off any new tidbits.
