Who’s ready to revisit the past? And I don’t mean Nintendo’s video game debut in the ’80s, or their rise through the ’90s. I’m talking about those sweet, sweet, 00s. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is bringing us back to the Game Boy Advance, GameCube, Wii, and DS years for its next online tourney event and its trip down memory lane worth taking.
The three-day #SmashBrosUltimate event tourney "The Year Is 200X" starts on 12/06, and is for fighters and stages created from 2000 to 2009! pic.twitter.com/78X2DJvc37

It’s in those years we were graced with Animal Crossing, Pikmin, and a little fitness phenomenon known as Wii Fit. There’s also some praise worthy follow-ups thanks to The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Mother 3, Super Mario Galaxy, Pokemon Diamond & Pearl, the whole Metroid Prime series (for now), and the Tellius duology of Fire Emblem.
While she may not’ve been strutting on a Nintendo system at the time, it was also just barely Bayonetta’s debut decade. That’s not even getting into the wild ride that was Super Smash Bros. Brawl’s prerelease Dojo updates…
Look forward to looking back to those still fairly fresh characters and stages with the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate 200X tourney event, running this coming weekend and starting Friday, June 12th.
