The recently announced Mother series tribute book Pollyanna, published by the games’ creator Shigesato Itoi’s company Hobonichi, is nearly here. While the Mother Project official Twitter has been sharing looks at the illustrations and comics within, the latest share comes from a source you might more easily recognize — none other than Masahiro Sakurai.

The Super Smash Bros. and Kirby creator must have an early copy of the book, which is all too fitting as his inclusion of Ness and Lucas (and their accompanying stages, items, music, and more) is a big part of the series’ continued relevance and recognition.

As if to acknowledge that, the back cover of Pollyanna features an ad for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate with the two characters and some appropriate screenshots atop a red background and the Mother series symbol. Sakurai muses that perhaps Smash is the only way fans can see the series on modern hardware, while also acknowledging just how much love for these games there is from their fans.

Pollyanna will be releasing in Japan via Hobonichi this Friday, June 12th, with a wider release following on June 25th. There’s still no word on an English release at this time.
