This Friday, the last leg of Pokémon GO’s Throwback Challenge 2020 will end and Pokémon Trainers will be eagerly awaiting the release of the Throwback Challenge Champion 2020 Special Research. In preparation for the event’s start on Wednesday, June 3rd, Niantic has been updating the app. While small, these visuals will have you excited for your next adventure!

If you would rather not know the latest updates to Pokémon GO and wait until the event is active in-game, please use an Escape Rope.

As we have previously reported about the game’s last big datamine, more Pokémon are coming to the app. Now, as you can see thanks to @Chrales, we can check out the models of these Pokémon early.

Rounding out the new set of models are the badge icons for catching Generation 8 Pokémon. These will function similarly to previous generation badges and their catching achievements.

Get ready to see these Pokémon if you’ve completed all four weeks of the Throwback Challenge starting on Wednesday, June 3rd, at 1 p.m. your local time.
