A new Pokémon GO update means another APK to datamine. The dataming group PokeMiners tore through the game’s APK 0.175.0 and found a few big things scattered throughout the update’s code. Get ready to be spoiled, Trainers! In fact, let’s make it count and double down.

Fair warning, if you would rather be surprised, abandon the article and go playing Pokémon GO in Stardust bliss.

NPCs

Code for NPCs you can battle has had a few more names added to its roster. Professor Willow is waiting in the wings for a battle/training, but the big news goes to an iconic duo — er trio… that’s not right… how about a troublesome group?

Enter Jessie and James, members of Team Rocket that will forever hunt down a 10 year-old kid and his Pikachu. The “Prepare for trouble and make it double!” doesn’t have any assets in the game yet, but being added to the NPC list is a massive start. Hopefully these two won’t be “blasting off again” too soon.

GALARIAN & GALAR POKÉMON

Previously, it was announced that more Galarian Pokémon forms would be added soon to Pokémon GO. Niantic only gave us a small tease of who was making the cut for this wave, but the datamine has the full list of who can be caught soon. There is also code confirming that some of the following Pokémon will be captured by Team Rocket and will be available in Shadow and Purified forms.

  • Galarian Meowth
  • Perrserker (evolves from Galarian Meowth)
  • Galarian Darumaka
  • Galarian Darmanitan (Standard and Zen forms, evolves from Galarian Darumaka)
  • Galarian Stunfisk
  • Galarian Zigzagoon
  • Galarian Linoone (evolves from Galarian Zigzagoon)
  • Obstagoon (evolves from Galarian Linoone)
  • Galarian Farfetch’d
  • Sirfetch’d (evolves from Galarian Farfetch’d)

FREE ITEMS AND MORE

The recent run of 1 PokéCoin boxes containing PokéBalls, Incense, Raid Passes, and etc. may soon be gone. Don’t despair as it looks like Niantic is going to make such bundles free instead! As of right now, there are two graphics that have been found in the update, too.

A sticker item-type was also discovered. This is a bit of a mystery as to what these may do and how they’re collected and used in-game. One thing we do know is that they will be available for in-app purchases.

The rest of the update contains tweaks to the Friends List, AR Occlusion for AR+ Mode, updates to the Battle League, and more. You can read the entire breakdown over on r/TheSilphRoad.
