Previously we learned that Evo 2020 would no longer be held in Las Vegas, and would instead return in some kind of online form. We’ve now learned what that is, as Evo Online has received a trailer detailing its time frame, promising “special exhibitions and content for Evo 2020’s original lineup.” Though, you might notice something missing from the trailer.

That’s right, there’s no Super Smash Bros. anywhere in this trailer. It appears to have been dropped from its place in the original lineup. The game has faced its share of hurdles when it comes to online competition and connectivity, though the fact that there’s not being any sign of it here is an interesting development.

It’s not all losses though, as four open online tournaments are joining the programming. These include the following:

  • Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath
  • Killer Instinct
  • Them’s Fightin’ Herds
  • Skullgirls: 2nd Encore

Evo Online programming will be held on the following weekends. Sign-up and full event info is coming soon.

  • July 4-5
  • July 11-12
  • July 18-19
  • July 25-26
  • July 31-Aug 2
