If you were afraid of father time catching up to the Nintendo Switch, think again: According to Nintendo representatives, the console is “…in the middle” of its life cycle.
This statement came via Nintendo’s Earnings Report Q&A section earlier today, where the representative said the console is, “Barely in the middle of the Switch cycle, no change to that view.” This, seemingly, solidifies that the Switch should be around until 2023 or so, until a possible hardware revamp comes along. As it stands, the Nintendo Wii had six years before becoming the Wii U, while the DS clocked seven before morphing into the 3DS.
Of course, the Switch probably isn’t going anywhere soon, as the console has increased in popularity over the past few months.
