A new developer update regarding Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town, the remake of the two GBA classic Story of Seasons games, was recently released by XSEED Games. The latest developer entry focuses on the localization process and subtle differences for the Nintendo Switch Japanese and Western releases.

As mentioned, the five-person team behind localization made a few tweaks to the game’s text and English translations, with hopes that the game will, “…remain faithful to the Japanese names.” In addition, same-sex marriage will make its way to Western audiences, and will be exactly the same as opposite-sex marriage, with every potential romanticcandidate featuring a “heart-icon.”

Overall, it seems like XSEED is taking the localization seriously for new and old fans alike. We won’t be waiting too much longer for the Friends of Mineral Town remake to hit (online) shelves, as the title is scheduled for a release of July 10th, 2020.
