Dream Land’s number one hero turns 28 this week, on April 27th (which was technically yesterday in Japan), and to mark the occasion, the official Japanese Kirby account has provided a new illustration. This isn’t the first time they’ve given Kirby his very own birthday card, but this year’s theme is centered on party balloons courtesy of his Circus copy ability.

Blowing all those up must’ve been no trouble at all for Kirby, though let’s hope he doesn’t try to eat that latex cake anytime soon. He deserves a freshly baked one, or a different sweet treat

For anyone looking for an extra art project, the account has also provided a blank version of the same illustration in the tweet thread. You can sit back with Kirby and enjoy coloring in the festive scene to your own liking!

Though he might have to settle for phone calls and virtual happy hours this year, it’s still an anniversary worth celebrating. Happy 28th birthday, Kirby!
