If you feel like you’ve been seeing more ads around featuring Nintendo, chances are you’re not alone: according to VentureBeat and iSpot TV, Nintendo spent an estimated $14 million on TV ads in March.
This estimation would be over $3 million more than February, while that number blew all other gaming brands out of the water, as no other company spent more than $1 million. That money was spent on 20 different ads which aired over 3,000 times; an Animal Crossing: New Horizons trailer saw the largest spend on a single ad, too.
Of course, it seems like Nintendo was onto something leading up to Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ release, as the game arrived at a time when the world needed it the most.
