Although reports have stated that Animal Crossing: New Horizons won’t ask players for their gender when creating a character, it turns out the game will indeed have male and female options — plus the ability to put face paint on your character.

A tweet from Twitter account Animal Crossing World featuring video taken at PAX East 2020 shows that players have the option to select between a male and female character at the onset of the game, plus the option to adopt face paint.

 

 

It appears players will only be able to choose between “None” and a custom design, which would indicate that players can add a variety of imaginative face paints to their characters.
