Sega releases Sonic 101 video, teaches a brief history of the character | Nintendo Wire

With the immense success of the Sonic the Hedgehog movie, Sega is certainly looking for ways to bring that attention to the games, comics, and other media.

To help people new to the franchise understand who Sonic is and where he came from, Sega has released a video called Sonic 101: A Brief History of Sonic the Hedgehog. The short, two minute video goes over Sonic’s origins on the Sega Genesis and his jump to 3D. It even pokes a bit of fun at Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) for its ridiculous story. It also ends by promising that Sonic is “just getting started” — once again hinting at upcoming games.

Even if you know all about Sonic, check it out. It’s a fun watch!
