After the announcement of Animal Crossing amiibo support in New Horizons from yesterday’s Direct, myself and others on the Nintendo Wire team were eagerly going through our collections, setting up trades, and looking for cards online. It can be tricky to get packs at MSRP these days, and certain villagers go for huge prices after market (looking at you, Marshal).

A shining light of hope from Japan has appeared though, as the four numbered series of Animal Crossing amiibo cards, as well as the camper based Welcome amiibo set have all gone back up for sale on the My Nintendo store. Again, this is Japan-only at this time, and it looks like quantities are limited.

The only cards not included are the special Sanrio X Animal Crossing collaboration packs, likely due to licensing reasons. While this is a sore blow for anyone after these elusive cards, it has been announced that their functionality will be more limited in Animal Crossing: New Horizons compared to all other Animal Crossing amiibo cards.

While this isn’t a guarantee of a restock or reprint, it’s still a good look for anyone after those last few villagers for their collection… or desperate for Bob. Hopefully they become available, either through a wider array of retailers or Japan or once again in the US and other countries.
