Pokémon Home launches this month, and for a service on the advent of release there’s still quite a bit we don’t know about it. Fortunately, a Japanese FAQ has come out to give us some more details and help clarify some things, which will hopefully help you determine whether you want to engage with the service or not.

First off, you don’t need a Nintendo Account to use Home, but you do need one if you want to share Switch data, view battle data on Switch, transfer Home data between phones, or transfer from Pokémon Bank using a Nintendo Network ID — so getting one is probably a good idea if you really want to use the service. For those who don’t pay a Premium subscription, you get one free box with which you can transfer Pokémon between Let’s Go and Sword & Shield (along with Mystery Gifts), though if you want more than one box you’ll need to pay up. You also can’t move Pokémon from Premium Boxes to your free box unless your subscription is active.

Hopefully that helps clarify things for you. We’ll be sure to update with any other pertinent details on the HOME service as they come out.
