Maybe, just maybe, the latest Mortal Kombat film can break the trend of bad video game movies. The production is, at least, taking a step in the right direction by revealing the film’s composer, Benjamin Wallfisch. He’s the mind behind Blade Runner: 2049, Shazam, and IT Chapter Two, to name but a few of his works, and will be leading the music department.
It was Benjamin himself who shared the information, taking to his personal Twitter account and posting a simple image of the Mortal Kombat logo to confirm his involvement in the film. Later on, writer Greg Russo and actors involved with the adaptation also confirmed him to be in the conductor’s chair.

Benjamin Wallfisch has won a Golden Globe, two GRAMMY awards, while also receiving BAFTA and Emmy nominations.
Mortal Kombat is currently slated to release on January 15th, 2021. Does this give you confidence that the latest Mortal Kombat movie might be good? Let us know!
