In an update tweeted via the official Devil May Cry Twitter, Capcom announced that Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition on Nintendo Switch will be adding something brand new to the fan-favorite action game.
While we were aware of planned announcements for the game, today it’s confirmed that Dante will now be able to change up his style on the fly via the “Free Style”/”Style Change” feature. This’ll bring the gameplay in ‘3’ more up to speed with later versions of Dante, and offer up fresh combo possibilities to help this party get crazy.

As stated, by tapping directional buttons you’ll be able to swap from Dante’s four default styles – Swordmaster, Gunslinger, Trickster, and Royalguard – at any point.
Once you unlock the other two (Quicksilver and Doppelganger), they’ll also be accessible via double tapping left or right.
This is a far cry from how style changing worked in the original releases of DMC3 and is a great get for Switch owners that want to make the most of what Dante can do.
A brief demonstration was provided where you can see the feature in action:
Look forward to two more announcements about Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition for Switch, set for January 30th, 2020 and February 13th, 2020. After that, it’s a quick ride to the game’s release on February 20th, 2020.
