Being one of the most critically acclaimed Sega Genesis games, it’s a little odd it’s taken Sega Ages to get to Sonic the Hedgehog 2, but at least we now know it’ll be pulling out all the stops as Knuckles the Echidna has been confirmed as a playable character via Famitsu.
Knuckles was playable in the original game through the innovative use of the Sonic & Knuckles lock-on cartridge – by combining it with your Sonic 2 cart you could play as the popular echidna through a slightly tweaked version of the original game.
Sega Ages Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has yet to receive a release date.
