As previously reported, news about Super Nintendo World was set to drop today — and what do you know, it’s finally happening, folks: new details have been shared on Super Nintendo World, Universal Studios Japan’s latest theme park creation, at the Universal Studios Japan Super Nintendo World Global Presentation. The presentation has revealed much about the upcoming theme park: the Nintendo themed land will open before the Summer Olympics, it’ll feature wearable wrist tech for interactive experiences throughout the park, and it will have its own smartphone app.

Super Nintendo World Osaka will be the first of four total Nintendo parks, with the Orlando, Hollywood, and Singapore locations to follow. Also, much like the Disney theme parks that Super Nintendo World will be competing with, guests will use “Power Up Bands” (think Magic Bands, if you’re familiar with Disney nomenclature) to create new, interactive, and life-sized, experiences all around the park.

Universal Studios Japan marketing director Ayumu Yamamoto said, “…[in Super Nintendo World] we will energize you and make you feel alive.”

That sounds good to us, Yamamoto-san, and we couldn’t be happier with hearing all of it! It seems like Universal Studios Japan is doing everything it can to position Super Nintendo World for success, thankfully.

The company also revealed an official music video for Super Nintendo World, which seemingly teases a little of what we can expect to find there, in addition to launching the hashtag #WeAreMario.
