In what is one of the strangest official videos I’ve ever seen, Nintendo has released a new “Sights & Sounds” commercial that features a person in an isolated cabin lighting a fire, then playing The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening and Super Mario Odyssey while we, the viewers, watch on. The end result is the strangest way to enjoy Yule log videos, ASMR, or playthroughs. We get to watch as the gamer in question prepares a sandwich to enjoy with Super Mario Odyssey.
Personally, I know I felt like the bad guy in a horror movie while watching this person all alone in a cabin in the middle of nowhere quietly play games. It’s just… all so bizarre. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t weirdly entranced though. Ohh, you got me again, Nintendo marketing department!
