During this year’s Nintendo Live event in Kyoto, another live Splatoon concert was promised and delivered. Fans could enjoy music from a live band performing various Splatoon 2 songs, as well as projections of both Off the Hook and the Squid Sisters together on stage. A lot of music from the series’ groups were played, including plenty of favorites from both idols groups’ catalogues, but the biggest surprise came right at the start.

None other than the coolest cat who ever howled, K.K. Slider himself, took the stage. Getting in on the fun, he strummed a little Splatoon music before singing his rendition of Animal Crossing: New Horizon’s main theme for the gathered crowds in a mellow jam that’d fit right in on a Saturday night. It was a quick special appearance but what an opening act to have.
