The 24-hour-long Pokémon Sword and Shield livestream of Glimwood Tangle launched this morning, and throughout the day, a single new Pokémon has been teased in various forms.

Over the course of the day, we’ve been able to catch glimpses of the Pokémon’s shadow, it dashing across the screen, and it walking in the background only to have fellow Pokémon Impidimp frustratingly block any clear views of it.

Fortunately, Pokémon news site Serebii.net has managed to get a screenshot of the best look at the new Pokémon yet.

Speculation from around the Pokémon fandom has pointed to this new ‘mon possibly being a Galarian Ponyta given its striking resemblance to a normal Ponyta and Ponyta’s cry audible at one point during the stream.

Pokémon Sword and Shield have revealed Galarian forms of older Pokémon in the past, including Weezing and Zigzagoon, so this definitely isn’t out of the realm of possibility.

In addition to the new Pokémon, Morelull, Phantump, and Shiinotic were all seen at some point during the stream, as well, potentially pointing to their inclusion in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield.

What do you think? Is this really a Galarian Ponyta, or perhaps an entirely new Pokémon? Let us know in the comments!
