The past few days have been filled with news regarding Mario & Sonic’s next Olympic outing, and this latest trailer out of Japan is one of the lengthiest yet, highlighting everything from basic events to the story mode.

And what a story mode it is – it looks like the cast is heading back in time to the 1964 Tokyo Olympics in their pixelated form, complete with some adorable looking retro cutscenes.

Not only that but we see the return of Dream Events, including one where you skate down Sonic Forces’ Metropolitan Highway, and some minigames, like a side-scrolling shooter where Mario pilots Tails’ Tornado bi-plane and another where you have to pick out characters on the famous Shibuya crossing.

You’ll be able to experience all this content once Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 launches on November 5th in North America and on November 8th in Europe.

Whether it’s an exciting new entry in a series long established or a weird experiment meant only for the dedicated, Tom is eager to report on it. Rest assured, if Nintendo ever announces Elite Beat Agents 2, he’ll be there.
