When it comes to beat ‘em ups you can’t not talk about Streets of Rage, one of Sega’s flagship entries in the genre. While it’s lain dormant for 25 years, the promise of a Streets of Rage 4 from the people that brought us the Windjammers revival we never knew we needed has been an exciting one. Today marks a new trailer, introducing us to a new character for the game and finally confirming that yes, this baby’s arriving on Switch (and other platforms).

Joining Axel Stone and Blaze Fielding is Cherry Hunter, daughter of the original game’s Adam Hunter. She’s power sliding in with an electric guitar at the ready to mix up the otherwise bare knuckle brawling of the cast. Time will tell if we’ll be skateboarding or playing as a kangaroo in this one, but it’s all the more reason to be ready to rumble when Streets of Rage 4 arrives sometime in the future.
