Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield’s villainous team and a few new characters were revealed in this morning’s two-minute Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield trailer.

“Team Yell” is a “group of troublemakers who seem to appear wherever the Gym Challenge takes [the player] and who attempt to get in your way at every opportunity.”

According to the official Pokémon site, Team Yell’s goal is to make sure new rival character Marnie becomes the Galar Pokémon League Champion and will do everything in their path to achieve their goal.

This includes taking over hotel lobbies, preventing other challengers from accessing transportation, and even shouting and distracting opponents during battle.

Team Yell Grunts sport Marnie-print towels and horns and seem to appear wherever Marnie battles.

Marnie, meanwhile, is a rival character with a “competitive side.”

Together with her partner Morpeko, she’s aiming for the Galar League Championship to accomplish a “certain goal.”

According to the official Pokémon website, her dedicated fans flock to her due to her sense of style and “calm, calculated battle strategies.”

Bede is another new rival character introduced in this morning’s Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield trailer.

With an endorsement from Chairman Rose, Bede is both proud and skilled at Pokémon battles.

He’s aiming to become the Galar League Champion, as well, but apparently has “other objectives” in mind.

Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield launch for Nintendo Switch worldwide on November 15th, 2019.
