For those of you still somber over the end of official Splatfests, the latest Splatoon 2 update has delivered on the earlier promise to keep that extra special event alive. The game’s latest update, Ver.5.0.0, is now available and the main addition is the ability for players to set up Splatfests of their own in private battles. This also revives all past Shifty Stations in that mode, lets you choose your ink color, and keeps music locked to what would be played during Splatfests.

The dev team has also gifted players a special Splatfest Tee Replica. The gear will change colors to match your ink, and still has the Ability Doubler ability.

That covers the big get, though for all you extra competitive squid kids out there, plenty of balance changes have gone into effect. Lots of weapons and specials are tweaked, as are Shellendorf Institute and New Albacore Hotel’s terrain. Be sure to check them out for yourself, test out your go-to weapons, and keep the Splatfests rolling!
