Something big is brewing over in Las Vegas for anyone into fighting games, eSports, or seeing the hypest crowds around. Evo 2019 is a few weeks away, and with registration now closed for participants, the final numbers are in:

 

 
Leading by over 1,500 players is Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. An earlier tweet confirms that this makes it the biggest Smash showing at Evo, and with nearly 3,500 participants stepping up to their Switches to play, there’s sure to be some great matches. Among the main stage games, four others are titles available/planned for Switch, making this a great time to check out what could be your next competitive obsession.

Evo 2019 will be held from August 2nd – 4th, with multiple streams for those not in attendance. Stay tuned for more information on where to watch and any exciting reveals coming out of the event.
