For anyone who is even remotely a fan of the Resident Evil franchise, you’ll know that Capcom has been on a porting frenzy and pushing as many of their Resident Evil titles as possible onto the Switch. And for fans, this is particularly exciting because it puts nearly everything from the main series of games into one, portable console to play at any time they want.

During today’s E3 Nintendo Direct, Nintendo confirmed two more of these ports. With Resident Evil, Resident Evil 0, and Resident Evil 4 having already released in May, alongside the already released Resident Evil Revelations and Resident Evil Revelations 2; Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6 are making their way to a Nintendo console for the first time!

Generally regarded as some of the most controversial titles in the franchise, 5 and 6 are where people believe the series overall took a turn towards action-heavy gameplay as opposed to survival horror. Regardless, the games have done well for Capcom and have, arguably, the best iterations of the Mercenaries side mode. With these additions on Switch, we’re getting closer to having every numbered titled on the console… and hopefully, Capcom is leading up to release Resident Evil 7 as a fully released version on Switch.

Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6 for Nintendo Switch don’t have an official release date just yet, but you’ll be able to find them in stores this fall!
