When Travis Touchdown reappeared in 2017, the working title of “Travis Strikes Again” had fans wondering if this would be No More Heroes 3. It turned out that Travis Strikes Again would be a side-step in the series – taking place within the No More Heroes universe, but no “3” added to the title.
Suda51, the game’s creator, had discussed the possibility of No More Heroes 3. From an interview done by Video Game Choo Choo, Suda51 said, “If [Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes] succeeds I definitely want to put out a 3 someday.”
That “someday” is now.
With a release date of 2020, Travis Touchdown is back, but things are different in Santa Destroy. Regardless, there are baddies to take out and a plethora of t-shirts to wear. From the game’s press release, this is all we know about No More Heroes 3:
“Travis Touchdown returns to Santa Destroy after a ten-year absence.
There he finds a huge artificial island metropolis floating in the sea, and a mysterious flying object hovering high above.
Who really is the deadly killer Travis must face off against this time?!”
A pleasant and wonderful surprise, this wasn’t completely unexpected. Suda51 has been teasing about an announcement at E3, sharing the first image below that ended up appearing as Travis’ t-shirt in today’s announcement:
