During this morning’s E3 Nintendo Direct, we saw plenty of gameplay and learned some new details about the upcoming Luigi’s Mansion 3.

Luigi and his friends receive an invitation to a lavish hotel, but once the lights go out, things start to get spooky. When attacked by ghosts, you’ll need to stun them with the returning Strobulb before sucking them up. Ghosts giving you a little trouble? Luigi can now slam them around a bit to loosen them up and make it easier to vacuum them with your trusty Poltergust G-00. Packed with a new plunger that can be used to grab hold of and break apart furniture and other items, the Poltergust G-00 also comes packed with an air burst feature that can be used to knock back several ghosts at once, as well as jump over hazards.

Transitioning into a conversation with E. Gadd, we learn that Gooigi is back to help Luigi tackle the hotel’s ghosts — Gooigi can slip into areas that Luigi can’t; safely walking across spikes and squeezing through bars. Careful though, Gooigi and water don’t mix well, and he’ll be washed away if you don’t watch your step! Gooigi also allows for co-op play, snd that’s not the only multiplayer you’ll be getting into with Luigi’s Mansion 3. The Scarescraper is returning as well, allowing you to clean up ghosts with up to eight friends.

Luigi’s Mansion 3 will be available later this year.
