It’s been a seemingly endless road to the release of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, yet here we are nearly at the dawn of a new chapter of Metroidvanias. Though the game is led by Miriam, it’ll be receiving a second playable character after launch. Those who’ve played the excellent Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon will no doubt recognize him:

Zangetsu will be available as a free post-launch character, and he’ll be voiced by the always excellent David Hayter. Wielding a katana and driven by a desire to slay all demons, he’ll also be able to unleash unique magics via talismans to set himself apart. Look forward to his slaughter sometime after Bloodstained’s launch this June for Nintendo Switch and other platforms.

When he isn’t writing for Nintendo Wire, Ricky’s anticipating the next Kirby, Fire Emblem, or if the stars ever align, Mother 3 to be released. Till then he’ll have the warm comfort of Super Smash Bros. to keep him going.
