We’ve gotten a pretty good handle on the weekly Spirit Board events that come to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Nintendo announces a theme, characters that fit the theme show up more frequently (with bigger rewards); rinse-repeat every weekend. This time around though, things are slowing down to help you bring your collection up.

There’s no ‘theme’ for the event starting tonight, rather it’s changing things up mechanically. The roulette wheel-like shield that you have to aim through to obtain Spirits will be moving slower to make gathering them easier. On top of that, you’ll get triple the SP during the event window as well, giving you more resources to power up or increase your Spirit collection even further.
The Spirit Shield Slowdown event will be running from tonight starting at 11 p.m. PT, lasting ’til the same time on Sunday, the 26th. Don’t miss out!
