While players on Switch will have to wait for winter, SNK’s revival of Samurai Shodown is nearly here for other consoles. Ahead of next month’s release, a trailer’s gone up to detail some points of the game, all of which are taken place as a prequel to the original Shodown.

For one, the Rage Gauge gets a little elaboration, with how it can power up your attacks over time or can be expended in one burst to try and turn the tide of battle in your favor. Most explained, however, is the game’s Dojo Mode. With every bit of play you accumulate, the game is collecting data to create a custom ghost fighter based on your techniques, patterns, and preferences. You can then challenge yourself to try and tighten your style against potential counters, or even download others’ ghosts to face off against friends, pros, and everything in between.

Also announced, a special offer is being held to thank longtime supporters of the series. Anyone who pre-orders or picks up the game within its first week of release will get the season pass for free. That’s six months of additional content, including four more fighters, at no extra cost for early adopters. Again, this is pertaining specifically to the June 25th release on other consoles. If it’s a sign of things to come for Nintendo Switch owners though, then there’s even more reason to look forward to this one come winter.
