20 years is quite a long time in “video game” years, as new and improved technology is always being made and tinkered with. Which is why whenever a game from childhood is given a remastered makeover, it’s exciting to see what else is being done — beyond graphics. Not all improvements may stick the landing, but for a kart racing game? Bring it on.

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is doing just that. After mashing together Crash Team Racing and Crash Nitro Kart, the Crash Bandicoot themed racing game is bringing skins and kart customization. In a trailer released today, we get a small glimpse of how we can not only trick out the kart bodies, but the wheels, decals, paint jobs, and stickers, too.

Whether you choose a hero or a villain, you can go one step further and pick a brand new outfit. Other ensembles found throughout Crash’s trilogy, animals, and more, this remastered game is pulling out all the stops when it comes to referencing pop culture.

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled crosses the finish line on Nintendo Switch on June 21st.
