Every day’s worth celebrating in Dream Land, but April 27th might be the most important of them all. It was on this day 27 years ago that Kirby first came into the world, debuting on the Game Boy and bringing his unique brand of platforming through a game that anyone could play. A special illustration’s gone out to mark that anniversary, bringing with it some extra fitting flourishes from Kirby’s latest adventure.

It may not have seen much use, but Festival Kirby is undeniably perfect for the occasion. And just look at that cake! It’s the perfect treat for Pop Star’s (and most recently, Nintendo’s entire collection of characters’) greatest hero. Happy birthday, Kirby!
