Recent months have been buzzing with speculation regarding new Nintendo Switch hardware models, namely an upgrade similar to the 3DS’ “New” line and a more miniature version of the hardware. CEO Shuntaro Furukawa, however, may have thrown cold water on the speculation during a Q&A session earlier today.

As Takashi Mochizuki and Reuters’ Sam Nussey report, Furukawa stated that there’ll be no new hardware announcements at E3.

Of course, given that one of the most recent rumors suggested the smaller Switch would launch in June, it makes sense that it wouldn’t be announced at E3 with mere weeks to release.

Either way, it’s good to know that this year’s E3 will be focused entirely on the games. Under two months to go, now!
