Farming and dating sim Story of Seasons has had its own spinoffs and crossover journeys over the years. Some titles have done well (notably, the Rune Factory branch of games), yet others have a fairly niche fanbase. The next mashup, Doraemon: Nobita’s Story of Seasons, which blends the long-running Doraemon franchise with the mechanics of Story of Seasons, seemed destined to be an import-only to North American fans. The anime Doraemon did have a stint on Disney Channel (Disney XD) in 2014 and 2015, but since then there’s been no ongoing English dub.

Perhaps that will change — from the look of things, it seems as though producers for Doraemon: Nobita’s Story of Seasons are hoping that English-speaking fans will want to play the game.

Impulse Gaming, a Malaysian retailer specializing in toys and games, shared some information about the game on one of their Facebook pages:

“📌ANNOUNCEMENT

June 13th Release Switch Doraemon Story of Seasons Japan Version will be JAPANESE Subtitles only.

Chinese version release will not be too far away from the Japanese version. Actual date to be advised.

English version release date is tentatively @ Q4 (Sept/Oct 2019), same this will be announced & confirmed at later stage.

📍For all previous preorder if you want to change to English/Chinese Version, Kindly PM.”

This is the first we’ve heard about an English release, and there’s also confirmation that the Japanese version will have no English subtitles. Currently, there have been no official announcements from Marvelous, Xseed Games, and/or Nintendo about a North American or European version. Perhaps Impulse Gaming let the horse out of the stable a tad too early. Hopefully we’ll see a confirmation on the languages at E3 this June.
