Team Meat, the developers behind Super Meat Boy, announced via Twitter that their upcoming title, Super Meat Boy Forever, will no longer launch this month. The new official launch window is “[a]fter but not too far after April 2019.”

The team said they’re working at a healthy, sustainable pace, and they don’t plan to enter crunch time to finish the game by a deadline.

“We are fortunate enough to have control over how we work and we choose not to run ourselves into the ground.”

Crunch in the industry is a growing problem, so it’s great to see a studio decide to take care of their health and happiness over a game’s release date. We’ll have more on Super Meat Boy Forever as we approach its new launch window!
