Thanks to its portability, the Switch is the first console I’ve owned that I own more digital titles on than physical. If you’re the same way, you might enjoy this bit of news: It’s been announced that a new capacity microSD will be released to push things up to the 1 terabyte threshold. That might sound excessive at this point but with Super Smash Bros. updates coming regularly and Animal Crossing on the horizon, plus the growing list of eShop titles, the need for space has never been greater.

According to The Verge, both Sandisk and Micron have 1TB microSD’s available. Of the two, the Sandisk card will have a slightly higher read speed while Micron will have the faster write speed. The Sandisk card will be available in April for $449.99, which is more than the cost of your Switch for the sake of convenience and capacity. Details on the Micron card price haven’t yet been revealed, but stay tuned, as we’ll report back with that information as soon as it’s made available.
