After Final Fantasy VII popped up in a recent Switch commercial, almost everyone expected it to be the next Final Fantasy game to drop onto the system. And yet, towards the end of today’s Nintendo Direct, we were all surprised by the announcement that Final Fantasy IX would be releasing via the eShop today!

The adventures of Zidane, Vivi, Garnet and co. are beloved all the same, and you can get a feel for the game via its Switch launch trailer below:

Final Fantasy VII wasn’t a no-show, however, with the Direct quickly confirming that the game would be launching March 26th. Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon: Every Buddy! will be launching the same month, on March 20th.

With those final dates confirmed, all of the Final Fantasy announcements made back in September are finally dated… And they’re all rather close, with March and April being filled to the brim!
