No Nintendo series revels in its anniversary like Pokémon does. Maybe it’s because I’m still remembering how all out they went for the 20th, or maybe Pokémon is just that popular with the masses.

It’s just about that time again, with February 27th marking the launch of Red & Green in Japan. While no big plans have been announced as far as games go, Nintendo New York is getting in on the fun with a five day celebration of the series:

From the 27th all the way to March 3rd, the store will be offering fun activities, like face painting, TCG Trade ‘n’ Play events, and appearances by recent Let’s Go! stars Pikachu & Eevee.

The most interesting bit to come out of this news is the Nintendo Treehouse Q & A sessions. While it could be as simple as giving visitors a chance to ask about the game so far, it’s important to keep in mind that we’re due for a new Pokémon RPG later this year for Nintendo Switch. News may be incoming — but for now, fans in New York might want to pick a day to swing by and get in on the fun.
