This is not an April Fool’s joke. Bubsy will be on the Nintendo Switch, starting in April (of all months.)

Granted, we were perplexed last October when we reported on Bubsy: Paws on Fire existence and 2019 release. Now that we have a release month that is mer weeks away, we’ll have time to process that the “long, long, long lost cousin” of Mario and Sonic will be playable on Switch.

An April release date isn’t the only newsworthy item announced today. Starting later today, as reported by Gematsu, a Kickstarter campaign will launch. Pitched as DLC content that would be available in late summer, the above video teases what additional content could be crafted.

We’ll continue to follow Bubsy’s adventure onto Kickstarter, especially since its ESRB rating is “M for Mature” in the trailer. Now is that a spicy joke?
