Super Smash Bros. Ultimate smashes through another milestone! The game has set a new record for a new launch month dollar sales record for a platform exclusive in all of video game history, beating out the long-standing champion, Halo: Reach. The info was shared by US Video Game Industry Analyst Mat Piscatella on Twitter.

This is excellent news for Nintendo. Beating out a system seller like Halo is no easy task, especially when Reach was sold during the Xbox 360’s heyday. This just goes to show what we already know: Smash has a lot of pull, and it’s proving to everyone that it can compete with, and even surpass, heavyweights like Halo.
