Today’s the day for a little bit of classic, 2D platforming with New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe now available in stores and in the eShop. This Wii U re-release brings hundreds of courses to the Switch with both Mario Bros. getting the chance to shine. Have a look at what they and the other playable characters bring in this info-filled launch trailer:

If you like your run ‘n jumps straightforward with a lot of course based creativity, this set’s made for you. And if you want to share the fun with someone who’s just not up to speed yet, you’ll be able to take Toadette for a spin and try on the new Super Crown to make things a bit easier. Unless you’re Bowser — then hands off, Nintendo says you can’t wear that.

Of course, that’s not the only Mario Bros. based fun you can have starting today. Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story + Bowser Jr.’s Journey has also released on the 3DS, bringing the third Mario & Luigi RPG back with some visual updates. Featuring a slower based and story driven adventure through the Mushroom Kingdom, it’s worth checking out for fans of the genre or who want something a little offbeat.

No need to shoo Bowser out in this one either, as he’s just as much a star as the Bros. we’re so hooked on. Playable and full of Koopa King charisma, you’ll never look at him the same way again. This all new journey starring his son and the Koopalings bring in a bit of light strategy gameplay and even more story focused fun.

No matter your preference, both of these releases are available right now. Don’t miss out on some clever courses and fantastic voyages on both your Switch and 3DS.

When he isn’t writing for Nintendo Wire, Ricky’s anticipating the next Kirby, Fire Emblem, or if the stars ever align, Mother 3 to be released. Till then he’ll have the warm comfort of Super Smash Bros. to keep him going.
