It’s something the people have been asking for from day one, but beast units are finally coming to Fire Emblem Heroes. After teasing and confirmation of a Radiant Dawn banner featuring everybody’s favorite batch of animal people, the official trailer for the upcoming Laguz Royal banner has dropped, confirming what we should’ve known all along – that these beasties are busted.
Each character is of the new beast unit class, and of a different color. Their Laguz mechanics work by allowing them to transform (gaining +1 movement and some Attack) if they either a) begin the turn next to nobody or b) begin the turn only next to other beast units. The selection of monarchal masters consists of Tibarn (Red Hawk Flier), Leanne (Gray Heron Flier), Reyson (Green Heron Flier), and Nailah (Blue Wolf Infantry). Reyson and Nailah are both dancers as one would expect, and Reyson and Nailah come with some busted abilities like Sturdy Impact (on initiation grants +6 Atk and +10 Def while negating foe’s follow-up) and Distant Counter/Null-C Disrupt (neutralizes skills that disable counterattacks).
In addition to these four, the upcoming Grand Hero Battle will feature Naesala, everybody’s favorite backstabbing raven prince. And there’s the usual batch of story missions to boot. It’s a jolly occasion and a huge leap for FEH content, so be sure to check it out when it drops on January 11th at 11 p.m. PST (so January 12th for most people).
