Mario’s Spirit Board event is about to let’s-a-get outta here, leaving room for a new theme to take up those spots and offer up some extra rewards. This time around it’s games and characters from the NES, Famicom, and Famicom Disk System showing up at a higher rate and hoping to teach you a little Nintendo history.

Shown off are the likes of Balloon Fight, Excitebike, Kid Dracula, and the unsung hero that is Donkey Kong 3’s Stanley. Most of all though I’m excited to get my hands on the Legendary likes of arcade Donkey Kong and Sukapon. If there were any darkhorse extra-retro pick I’d want added to Smash it’s them, but I’ll take the Assist Trophy treatment they got with a smile. Be on the lookout for these starting the night of January 3rd.
