Practically everyone with a Switch is probably diving straight into Super Smash Bros. Ultimate right now, and that’s naturally putting quite a bit of strain on the online servers. In response, Nintendo of Europe has announced that network services are going to be disabled for a brief while today to “improve your experience.”
To improve your experience, we are temporarily taking Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s network services offline between 16:30 and 17:00 CET, including Online Play. We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

The maintenance will take place between 16:30 to 17:00 Central European Time, or 10:30 to 11 a.m. E.T. That’s not too much of a break from Smashing!
