Tonight during the Video Game Awards, Ed Boon announces Mortal Kombat 11. While this may not be a huge shock to many, the fact that it is also coming to Nintendo Switch might be.

The initial (and violent) trailer revealed that the game will have a global release on April 23rd, with a gameplay reveal on January 17th. The trailer also says players can pre-order the game starting tomorrow to gain access to the beta and to unlock awesomely-dumb looking bad guy Shao Khan. It was not revealed if Switch pre-orders will go up at the same time; however, the fine print in the trailer did state the console beta was only for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
