The Pokémon series has always been a heavy hitter when it comes to sales. Mainline games often sell like hotcakes at launch and go on to have a significant presence in the sales charts over the months that follow. Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! are the latest to fly off the shelves, but the extent to which they’ve done so in just a matter of days is incredibly impressive.

As this recent tweet from PokéTimes, an official account ran by The Pokémon Company, reveals, three million copies have been sold worldwide, making them the fastest selling Nintendo Switch games so far. It’s also worth noting that there are 22.86 million Switch units as of September 30, 2018, meaning a sizeable portion of the user-base has already picked them up!

We’ll just have to wait and see if this milestone will be overtaken with the launch of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in a few weeks. Regardless, this is shaping up to be a big holiday season for Nintendo!
